Anxiety Treatment for Students (ATS)
This brief training provides students of all levels with an opportunity to explore their anxiety and consequences caused by the problem. Students either in junior/senior schools or universities may benefit from the training through developing their cognition of anxiety, mastering practical skills and increasing their competence in dealing with anxiety in their examinations, academic performance and daily activities.
Anxiety is common to all people. There are many different types of anxiety. These words like worried, scared, stressed out, shy, embarrassed etc, are just few adjectives used to describe different anxiety. It never feels good whenever anxiety happens. Normally, anxiety won't stay long with us, but sometimes some people may have difficulty to go over it, and for some others, anxiety can cause real problems for them. For example, anxiety may stop them leading a normal life, such as making friends, trying new things, or conducting their daily jobs. For some students, examinations may trigger their anxiety. They may work hard at their subjects but it seems examinations always a headache...
What makes examination stressful for you? What makes study stressful for you? Do you know the factors that influence you when you feel anxiety? This training will guide you to explore stress and anxiety in your study, help you develop cognitive ability and skills of dealing with anxiety in some brief sessions. Some unhelpful behaviours and habits will also be discussed aiming to learn to develop a procedure for solving the problems.
